7th Annual Wisconsin Summit
A workshop featuring internationally renowned clinicians focused on self-improvement for the middle and high school band director
Hosted by Scott Teeple, professor, conductor of Wind Ensemble, and the UW–Madison Mead Witter School of Music Band Program
February 1–2, 2019

$235 general admission, $7.50 for current UW–Madison students.

Friday, February 1

9:00–9:20 a.m. — Warm-up session with Joe Mesner; Room 1341 Humanities Building
9:20–10:00 a.m. — Laboratory rehearsal with Cheryl Floyd (Diamond Tide, Cuong); 1341 Humanities
10:05–10:45 a.m. — Laboratory rehearsal with Mary Land (Sheltering Sky, John Mackey); 1341 Humanities
10:45–11:00 a.m. — Q & A with Mary Land and Cheryl Floyd
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Richard Floyd presentation: The Seven Deadly Sins of Making Music
12:10–1:00 p.m. — Laboratory rehearsal with Richard Floyd and UW–Madison music students (Suite Provençale, Van der Roost and Rippling Watercolors, Balmages); 1341 Humanities
1:00–2:15 p.m. — Lunch (on your own)
2:15–3:15 p.m. — Cheryl Floyd presentation: Best Beginnings for Beginners; Union South, Landmark Room (3rd floor)
3:30–4:30 p.m. — Mary Land presentation: When the Maestro is NOT a Mister; Union South, Landmark Room
4:30–5:00 p.m. — Q & A/Wrap-up session; Union South, Landmark Room

9:00–10:00 a.m. — Mary Land presentation: Teach Like Your Hair is On Fire
10:00–11:00 a.m. — Richard Floyd presentation: The Three E’s of Rehearsal
11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. — Cheryl Floyd and Richard Floyd co-presentation: The Music Really Matters
12:15 p.m. — Final Q & A session
