Please note: Due to circumstances beyond our control, the March performance of the WBQ will not include percussionist Anthony DiSanza. We announce trumpeter Jean Laurenz, who replaces Alex Noppe, who received an offer that tempted him from Madison.
The performance is now free of charge, no tickets required.
Formed in 1972, the Wisconsin Brass Quintet has maintained a position at the forefront of brass chamber music. The WBQ’s commitment to commissioning, arranging, transcribing, and reimagining repertoire has afforded the group a distinctive and exciting musical voice. The Quintet performs in a wide range of styles, from classical to jazz to commercial music.
With Jean Laurenz and Matthew Onstad, trumpets; Tom Curry, tuba; Mark Hetzler, trombone; Daniel Grabois, horn.
The quintet is one of three faculty chamber ensembles-in-residence at UW-Madison. Deeply committed to the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea, the group travels widely to offer its concerts and educational services to students and the public in all corners of the state.
