This concert will feature works for violin and piano by women composers, including Beach, Chaminade, Clarke, and L. Boulanger.
Altino is associate professor of violin at UW-Madison.
Violinist Soh-Hyun Park Altino’s concert engagements have taken her to Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Korea, Venezuela, and throughout the United States. She has appeared as a soloist with the Memphis Symphony, Jackson Symphony, Peabody Concert Orchestra, Masterworks Festival Orchestra, Sinfonica de Campinas in Campos do Jordão, Festival Virtuosi Orquestra in Recife, and Suwon Philharmonic in Seoul, among others. Ms. Park Altino has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Monique Duphil, Oleh Krysa, Suren Bagratuni, Daniel Shapiro, and Jasper de Waal and has performed in the Memphis Chamber Music Society concert series.
Pianist Jeannie Yu has performed as a soloist with the Flint Symphony, Portland Symphony, Marina del Rey-Westchester Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, Des Moines Brandenburg Symphony, the Xiamen Symphony Orchestra in China, Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Festival City Symphony Orchestra. She was awarded first prize in the Frinna Awerbuch piano competition in New York, the Flint Symphony International Concerto Competition, the Portland Symphony international concerto competition, and the Kingsville piano competition in Texas.
