Clarinet Music of Les Thimmig

Presenting a ten-year retrospective of the compositions of Les Thimmig. Featuring Mr. Thimmig, basset horn, bass and E-flat clarinets; Alicia Lee, B-flat clarinet; and Jessica Johnson, piano.

Les Thimmig is a professor of composition and jazz saxophone at UW-Madison.  His numerous appearances as soloist include those with Parnassus, New England Conservatory Chamber Orchestra, Boston Musica Viva, Dayton Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Orquesta Nacional de Venezuela, and New York Philharmonic. Mr. Thimmig’s jazz career has included performances with the orchestras of Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, Oliver Nelson, and Duke Ellington. His compositions have been performed in North and South America, Europe, and Africa.

The program for this event includes Thimmig’s Ballads and Dances, Yolanda Variations, and Grey of the Dawn II.
