Wisconsin Singers 2018–2019
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
WISCONSIN SINGERS: UW–Madison’s campus leader in promoting the Wisconsin Idea.
Featuring top talents from the UW–Madison, Wisconsin Singers entertains more than 80,000 fans annually with stellar vocals, stunning choreography, and spectacular big band sound. The Singers draws students from a variety of majors across campus who have a passion to perform, are committed to representing the excellence of UW–Madison, and enjoy the fun of giving 35–40 performances per year in communities across the state and nation as “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill” for our campus since 1967.
The Wisconsin Singers program provides opportunities for students of all majors to perform pop music of the last 60 years. It is run almost entirely by the students themselves, who handle many of the elements of production—from booking to operations and music performance—and work alongside professionals who arrange, choreograph, and rehearse a 90-minute, revue-style show featuring the most talented singers, dancers, and instrumentalists from the university. Over the last 50 years, the Singers has evolved into a professional entertainment company, focused on Broadway-caliber productions, hands-on educational opportunities, and community service.
The group is comprised of 16 singer-dancers, nine instrumentalists, three tech people, and a nine-member business team: three project managers, two PR/marketers, two graphic artists (one year-round and one single-semester), and two administrative assistants. Students come from different majors all over campus. For more information, please visit wisconsinsingers.com.
Auditions are held at the end of spring semester.
