ABOUT THE PROGRAM
WISCONSIN SINGERS: UW–Madison’s campus leader in promoting the Wisconsin Idea through Broadway caliber pop music entertainment that tours the state and nation.
Featuring top talents from the UW–Madison, Wisconsin Singers entertains more than 50,000 fans annually with stellar vocals, stunning choreography, and spectacular big band sound. The Singers draws students from a variety of majors across campus who have a passion to perform, are committed to representing the excellence of UW–Madison and enjoy the fun of entertaining thousands each year in communities across the state and nation as “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill”.
The Wisconsin Singers program provides opportunities for students of any major to take the stage in a revue of the last 40 years of pop music. Students have the unique opportunity to work alongside professionals who arrange, choreograph, and rehearse a 90-minute show featuring the most talented singers, dancers, and instrumentalists from the university. The program also provides a chance for students to move into leadership positions that provide real-world experience in everything from vocal/dance/instrumental and theater technology management to touring and production management.
The troupe has 18 singer-dancers, 9-10 instrumentalists, sound/lighting/stage managers, and a nine-member internship team who learns the intricacies of entertainment business, PR/marketing, social media, graphic arts, and administration in a fast paced, fun campus environment. Auditions and internship interviews are held at the end of spring semester through July for the following academic season.
