Birgül Su Ariç has been delighting the opera stages in Turkey and Europe with her beautiful soprano voice for the last 15 years. Ms. Su Aric is a native of Turkey, though she spent a great deal of time in Italy, studying and performing. She is known as a bel canto specialist. Members of all ages in Sigma Alpha Iota, the local women's music fraternity, will present a recital focusing on works from women composers. This event is to bring awareness of women composers throughout time and to feature our musically talented women in the fraternity. Anne McAninch- Composition Brianna Ware- Composition Meng Meng Wang-Composition. Brianna Ware, Anne McAninch, and Meng Meng Wang are composers at UW-Madison who study with Prof. Laura Schwendinger. This recital will feature premieres of original works that they have composed. Ms. Ware is in her second year of her master's in piano performance, Ms. McAninch is in her second year of her DMA in composition, and Ms. Wang is also in her second year of her DMA in omposition.

Bartholomew Shields is a senior violin performance major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying with Soh-Hyun Park Altino. Bartholomew will perform Bach's Violin Sonata No. 3 in C major, BWV 1005; Ysaye's Sonata No. 3 in D minor ("Ballade"); Paganini's Caprice No. 2 in B minor; and Sibelius's Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, accompanied by pianist Satoko Hayami.

Richard Silvers is a 2nd year DMA candidate in violin performance in the studio of Soh-Hyun Park Altino. On this recital, Richard, joined by pianist Satoko Hayami, will be performing the Sonata in A major "Duo," D 574 by Franz Schubert, the Sonata No. 1 in G major, Op. 78 by Johannes Brahms, and the Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 80 by Sergei Prokofiev.

Biffa Kwok, student of Prof. David Perry, is a Collins Fellow and a doctorate candidate in violin performance. He will present his final recital with the collaborative pianist, Chan Mi Jean, who just completed her DMA degree at UW-Madison under the tutelage of Prof. Martha Fischer. The recital includes works by Schubert, Franck, and Paganini.
