The Wind Ensemble is designed for the most accomplished wind and percussion students; programmed repertoire is of the highest caliber and the size of the ensemble changes to accommodate the requirements of music being performed. The ensemble hosts high school bands and clinics, and performs with world-renowned guest soloists, conductors and composers. The UW-Wind Ensemble is active in commissioning new pieces and joining consortia to encourage composers to write for bands. Currently the ensemble is participating in a consortium with the New York Philharmonic and the Big Ten Band Directors Conference. Admission is by audition only. Participation is open to all students regardless of major.

Rehearsal Times:
Monday and Wednesday: 3:30-5:30 PM
Friday: noon-1:00 PM
