Student Teaching Division
The Student Teaching Division runs under the auspices of the University of Wisconsin School of Music to provide its students with valuable teaching experience.
The staff consists of undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the School of Music who are overseen by individual faculty members as well as by an experienced graduate supervisor. Lessons are taught on campus, in the Mosse Humanities Building.

Teachers often teach current university students who are non-music majors but who are interested in continuing study, or community members who are interested in the program.
Fall 2008 Registration

Interested students should apply in writing beginning August 11, 2008 using the application form (PDF file). After receiving your registration and payment, the Coordinator will determine if there is a teacher available.

Assignments will be made beginning September 8, and assigned teachers will then contact students to arrange lesson times. If we cannot assign a teacher, we will notify you and return your check.

All lessons must be completed by December 12  Applications for fall lessons will not be accepted after November 1, 2008.

This program is limited by University and School of Music constraints. We regret that we cannot guarantee lessons for all interested individuals. Wherever possible, continuing students in the program will receive priority for subsequent semesters. However, given teacher turnover, we cannot guarantee continuing instruction. Students should be at least 8 years of age to participate, although an exception may be made in the case of previous advanced musical training prior to age 8. Parents of students under 8 must remain in the Humanities building during lessons.
