A solo clarinet recital with pianist Christopher Taylor, performing contemporary techniques to romantic sonatas.
American clarinetist Wesley Warnhoff brings his thoughtful and intense performance style to the University of Wisconsin-Madison in his first faculty recital on campus. He will be joined by the renowned pianist Christopher Taylor as they perform Brahms Sonata No. 1 in F minor. Also on the program the duo of Warnhoff and Taylor will perform Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsody and songs from Porgy and Bess. There will also be an unaccompanied work as he performs Shulamit Ran’s Monologue: For an Actor– a piece designed to challenge the virtuosity and characters that can be created on the instrument.
