ABOUT THE PROGRAM

WISCONSIN SINGERS- UW-Madison’s campus leader in promoting the Wisconsin Idea

Featuring the top talents from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin Singers entertains more than 80,000 annually with stellar vocals, stunning choreography and spectacular big band sound. Singers draws students from a variety of majors across campus who have a passion to perform, are committed to representing the excellence of UW-Madison, and enjoy the fun of sharing the stage in communities across the state and nation as “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill” for our campus since 1967.

The Wisconsin Singers program provides opportunities for students of all majors to perform pop music of the last 60 years. It is run almost entirely by the students themselves, who handle many of the elements of production, from booking to operations and music performance, working alongside professionals who arrange, choreograph and rehearse a 90-minute revue-style show featuring the most talented singers, dancers and instrumentalists from the university. Over the last 49 years, the Singers has evolved into a professional entertainment company, focused on Broadway caliber productions, hands-on educational opportunities, and community service.

The group is comprised of 16 singer/dancers, 9 instrumentalists, 3 tech people, and 8 business members comprised of: 3 Project Managers, 2 PR/Marketing, 1 year round Graphic Arts, 1 semester Graphic Arts, and 2 Administrative Assistants. Students come from different majors from all over campus. For more information follow this link: http://www.wisconsinsingers.com/auditions/

Auditions are held at the end of second semester, and shows offer 35-40 performance opportunities throughout the state and country.
