Choirs
The Choral Program has auditions at the beginning of each semester, and offers performance opportunities for both the experienced singer and the novice. Groups range in size from 34 to 160 members.
You do not need to be a music major to participate in these 7 choirs, so we encourage you to audition and have an exciting, challenging, inspirational and enjoyable time! Please note that University Chorus does not require an audition.

This 150-voice organization is open to singers both in and outside the university community. Everyone is welcome to audition at the start of each semester. Fall repertoire has not been chosen.

Auditions for community members are Wed., Sept. 4 (sopranos and tenors) and Thurs., Sept. 5 (altos and basses) following a short 6:00pm meeting in Morphy Hall, Room 2330 Humanities Bldg. You may attend either night if you have a conflict. No sign up is needed so just plan to attend, if interested. Please refer to audition details in right column. Auditions are private, and are held in classrooms outside Morphy Hall. (If returning members have auditioned 3 or more consecutive years for Choral Union, they may skip the audition.)
Tickets may be purchased for concerts one month in advance. (UW students are not free to these concerts); $15/General Public and $8/Students and Seniors. Box Office: (608) 265-2787. Remaining tickets at door.
Rehearsals are Mondays: 7:30-9:30pm, 2340 Mosse Humanities (Mills Hall) at the corner of Park and Univ. Ave.

Choir Auditions

Next auditions - Sept. 3.

We have auditions on the first day of class each semester. You may sign up outside Room 2521 Mosse Humanities Bldg during the weekend prior to classes starting. The eight-minute audition will include singing My Country 'tis of Thee (we have the words and will help you with your best starting note), and sight-reading. International students may sing a simple song of their choice. Afterwards, the conductors will help you decide what choir best suits your schedule and abilities. Each choir has several required concerts per semester.

Do not register for choir until after the audition. Please bring your class schedule with you for reference, and arrive about 10 minutes early. Everyone will receive results within a few days, so please email us if you do not hear back.

Audition Form If you prefer to print your own copy, the two pages must be double-sided on white paper. This form will also be available outside the door of your audition room. Please put your name on the top of both sides.
