POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Assistant Director, School of Music
The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music invites applications for Assistant Director of the School of Music, an academic staff position, beginning on or after November 1, 2008. Please see the official posting at http://www.ohr.wisc.edu/pvl/pv_059669.html.
Rank and Salary: Administrative Program Specialist. Salary is open and will be negotiated on the basis of the applicant’s experience and qualifications. The appointment is for 12 months and is renewable.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in arts/music or a related field with three years of professional work experience required. Master's degree in arts/music or a related field with professional experience preferred.
Responsibilities: Work with the Director of the School of Music to administer activities related to the daily life of the School. Includes formulating, implementing, and administering policy, grant and award management, academic personnel management, research, and information technology. Represent the School and act on behalf of the Director in interactions with the public, university officials, government agencies, and accrediting councils. Identify and pursue funding sources for artistic program support and ongoing program needs. Plan, coordinate, and represent the School at events related to development and fundraising such as the School's Board of Visitors meetings and showcase concerts. Develop and administer special programs for community-based outreach functions. Miscellaneous work as directed.
